Red - Problem-Solving
Blue - Creativity

“You take the blue pill - the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill - you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes.” — Morpheus (Laurence Fishburn), The Matrix
If he took the blue pill he would have ended up remaining in the creative dream space, a veritable subjectivism, where truth is belief, and you can believe whatever you want.
But he took the red pill and ended up in a destructive logical construct where he secretly longed (needed) to return to the dream in order to free himself from the nightmare.
The quote is suspect. The story only begins when he explores Wonderland. The truth is the story of Wonderland and yet, to stay is to believe whatever you want, to create stories. Nested inside the other, neither exists without its compliment.
